House Plans

I have always had a bit of an obsession with house plans.  I love looking through the different styles and options that each plan offers.  Recently, I started saving house plans on my delicious account because I'm hoping that in the next 4 years we'll be able to build our dream home.  Lord knows it's not possible right now, considering we're paying over $8,000/yr. for childcare/preschool.  I'm certainly not complaining, because it used to be over $11,000/yr. when Caroline wasn't in elementary school yet.   So for now, I'm just saving plans that we like, hoping to take ideas from each of them and have an architect create the perfect house for us.

So here are the plans that we like so far.  Notice that they are all Donald Gardner plans.  I don't know who he is, but we seem to gravitate toward his plans when searching the web.

House #1:

What we love about this plan:
 - the family studio
 - the screened porch
 - 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms
 - kitchen opens up to a morning room
 - front & back porches
 - 1-story

The only thing we didn't like about this plan is that there isn't a walk-in pantry

House #2:

What we love about this plan:

 - the screened porch with fireplace
 - 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms
 - front & back porches
 - sitting area in master bedroom
 - wall in front of the kitchen sink can be removed to make things more open
 - 3 car garage leaves extra space for a shop area for Will
 - walk-in pantry
 - 1-story

The one thing we don't like is that the master bathroom is the only one with a tub.

House #3:

What we love about this plan:
 - the screened porch with fireplace
 - Jack & Jill bathroom for the girls
 - front & back porches
 - walk-in & butler's pantries

The one thing we don't like about this plan is that it's a 2-story house.

So, what do you think?  I often feel that all of this is out of our reach, but a girl can dream.  Can't she?
